FITNESS 101: HEALTHY KIDS

Proper nutrition and exercise are critical for a child's healthy development and well-being. But the combination of poor eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle puts our kids at risk of obesity and all its associated physical and emotional effects. On the other hand, children who eat well and exercise regularly are likely to perform better academically, are better able to manage their emotions and cope with stress, and are generally more confident. Fitness 101 is a comprehensive 12-week program for families who want to give their children (ages 8–18) the opportunity to be their best selves now and to set the stage for a life of health and wellness.

The program focuses on nutrition and fitness in a fun and informative way. You and your child will develop a deeper understanding of how food impacts our bodies and emotions. We'll examine current eating behaviors through journaling and discussion and, on a few critical nutritional points, start the process of positive change. The workouts are tailored to every fitness level and include light medicine balls, resistance tubing, and various floor exercises. After 12 weeks, your child will be stronger, more flexible, and more confident!

We are committed to helping kids and parents make positive changes for a healthy future. Full parental participation is mandatory for your child's success. Parents are required to work out alongside their kids during class and are the only ones who can make the necessary changes to support better eating habits at home.

Class meets twice a week—Monday evenings from 6:00–7:30 pm and Saturday mornings from 10:00–11:00 am. On Mondays, we'll spend the first half-hour discussing eating habits, food choices, and other situational behaviors. The remainder of the session on Monday and all Saturday sessions will be spent in the gym, building strength and endurance while having fun.

Cost: $720 (or three monthly payments of $245 each)

Once the 12-week program has concluded, we encourage you to continue to build on your success in the gym on Mondays evenings from 6:00–7:30 pm and Saturday mornings from 10:00–11:00 am.

Cost: $20 per class for one child and parent. Bring a sibling for $7 or invite a friend for $15.
